THE BEGINNING
SHOULD I BE A NAIL TECH?
In 2018, I graduated with a Diploma of Film, fully convinced I was destined to be a cinematographer. But after diving into the industry, I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit for me. At 19, working in retail with no real direction, I found myself asking, "What's next?"
Instead of staying stuck, I decided to explore different avenues. I enrolled in several short courses, hoping to find something that sparked my passion. Having always been involved in dance, drama, art, and media throughout school, I knew I wanted something in the creative world. By the end of 2019, I completed my Cert 3 in Nail Technology.
Then came 2020—COVID lockdown hit. While I couldn’t take clients, I used that time to refine my skills and build my social media presence. In June 2020, I began working with clients, offering $40 sets to build my portfolio. Fast forward just two years, and I had moved out, quit my retail job, increased my prices, and was officially a full-time, private nail technician.
It’s been a wild ride, but now I’m living my dream, all thanks to that leap of faith in trying something new.

LIVING MY DREAMS
When I first decided to study nails, I had no idea the joy and abundance it would bring into my life. I always dreamed of being self-employed, but I didn’t know how to make it happen. Now, three years in, I can confidently say there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.
Every day, I get to create beautiful, intricate art that brings real joy to my clients. As I dove deeper into courses and learned about the true importance of nail health, I uncovered the harsh realities of rushed, non-standard salon services. That realization pushed me to elevate my craft, and now I’m driven by the ability to deliver quality, clean, and comfortable services that brighten my clients' days.
I love the art. I love experimenting. I love expressing myself and learning new things. Every day, I’m thankful the universe led me down this path—and now I’m here to show others they can do the same.
THE FUTURE?
WHAT WILL SISKKA BECOME?
When I think about Siskka and the future I’m building, I see artistry at the highest level. I see mentoring the next generation of Nail Technicians. I see raising the bar for our entire industry.
I’ve made it my mission to deep-dive into the areas I’ve mastered. I want you to have the head start I never got. I’m here to help you grow with intention and excellence.
I’m also carving out space for the kind of creative work that truly sets my soul on fire—editorial shoots, fashion, film, music, and art. There’s nothing like building a set of nails that completes a visual story. I've already had the honour of working on album covers for Milan Ring and Gold Fang, and I know there’s more of that to come. And yes—working with A-list clients is a goal of mine too.
